About Us

Who we are:

David Kitaq Nicolai
He’s a native of Anchorage, Alaska, and an Alaska Native. He can be found playing soccer, engineering all the things, playing video games, and hanging out with his gal. While a voracious consumer of the intertubes, he is but a Padawan Learner when it comes to intertubes creation. Understanding WordPress is at the extreme upper limit of his comprehension.
Follow him on twitter kitaq (personal)kitaq_PE (professional), yupik_dad (fatherly overflow).
Watch him tell string stories.

Eliabeth Moreau Nicolai
She has roots in Oklahoma and Texas but grew up in Overland Park, Kansas (suburb of Kansas City) before moving north to Alaska in 2008. She’s a youth services coordinator for the library. When not librarianing, she is probably baking, knitting, crafting, reading, or trying to grow things.

Our Story
Cinco de Mayo (May 5th) 2011 and there was a party. Elizabeth told a story about driving the Alcan in January and David was intrigued. David made a joke about his ancestors being in America for 10,000 years and Elizabeth loved his wit. There were twitter and facebook checking ups, David got Elizabeth’s number, and six weeks later they met up at Moose’s Tooth. Was it a date? Neither were sure at first, but by date two or three (depending on who you ask) it had clicked for them both. By the times the leaves fell in the fall, they’d fallen in love. (Wow, that was really cheesy, we apologize.) A year later, another Cinco de Mayo, May 5, 2012 and David asked Elizabeth to marry him. One more year (June 8, 2013) and there was a wedding. Another year and a baby. You can’t say we don’t keep ourselves on a busy pace!

As they adjust to married life, they build things, grow things, watch silly television shows, hike, camp, hunt, and just live life. This blog will have photos (especially now that someone has gone facebook free), and general updates on no particular schedule.
